Daniel Curran is an Atlanta-based artist working primarily with oil & acrylic on canvas.
He was born in the Boston area in 1978 and began his first studies at the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham, Massachusetts. In 1996 Daniel traveled across the country and was first introduced to oils while living in the Hawaiian Islands. After leaving Kauai he landed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1999. In 2000 Daniel began studying at the Atlanta College of Art with a concentration in painting. It was there that he experimented with several mediums in sculpture, which had a significant influence on his painting style. Daniel began exploring the relationship between sculpture and painting.
In 2005 he earned his BFA and has continued to paint and develop a body of work. His subject matter includes people, cityscapes, landscapes, and interior spaces. A close look at Danielšs paintings reveals to the viewer a true celebration of paint. Daniel works with multiple layers of color and texture, creating pieces that demand you touch them.
