Unstable tables
And unemployable knives
Clean streets littered with noise and
The soul of a poet who was not allowed boys.

This city of:
People who seek sleep late
And waken with some larks
They daily have to renew themselves
Speedier and sweeter than old tree bark.

This city has:
An elusive river flowing
Forever around a corner
You may ask the way to see it
And are told instead of a mourner.

This city is:
Young and vibrant and ghostly
The herons keep clapping directions
Suddenly the Liffey's before me
Giving life to some wistful perceptions...
Dublin is a fair city...and yes
It is pretty. This Is A City Of:
