Even though we have great respect for the arts many teachers, students and even parents look down on arts education considering it something their children or students will never need in real life but the truth is very different. The value of arts education should never be looked down up on and when compared with subjects like language, math and science, fine arts education actually proves more beneficial in shaping who they are and how much they can succeed in life. Learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics in our time is more important than ever before especially for developing character and leadership skills in growing children.

Art is a form of communication without the use of grammar, punctuation or spellings. It is a form of communication in which many individuals that have difficulty learning can excel in and those who have something to say can speak volumes without having to use any words. In today’s world driven of visual components, the skillset of any student or employee demands creativity and a growing talent in communicating with visual images.

For parents worrying whether fine arts education will prevent their children from focusing on subjects like math’s and economics they are doing more harm than good to their child’s academic career. According to a study, arts have been proven to develop the creative capabilities of a child but also enhance their capability to understand and use the knowledge gained by other subjects and transition them to real life achievements. According to a report by PBS , it is proven that younger individuals that take part in fine arts for up to 3 hours a day on 3 days each week for a whole year, are more likely to take part in academic contests, get recognized for academic achievement, and win awards for writing an essay or poem when compared to children who do not.

When a child or anyone for that matter takes part in fine art educations he or she have to push their imaginative and creative talents to their limits and even beyond which provides them myriads of benefits ranging from fine motor skills to creativity to improved emotional balance to becoming a better leader. According to another report, fine arts education drastically improves problem solving capabilities and critical-thinking skills which are crucial qualities of a leader. The process of experiencing making complicated decisions that have consequences and choices don’t just apply to their skills in art but transition over to their personality aiding them in every aspect of their life.

Even going by the academic purposes, education in fines arts has far more benefits than any other form of learning as well as providing the highest probability of success in life. Considering the high demand of creative talent in today’s economic landscape, an education in the fine arts becomes a must have for every child.
